Scope

Travel and Tourism industry is one of the largest foreign exchange earners in the Indian economy. It provides scores of employment opportunities directly to the people associated with this sector. Being a very wide field, the scope of employment in tourism sector is very bright and the potential is still largely untapped. Career opportunities exist both in the public and private sector. In the public sector, there are opportunities in the Directorates and Departments of Tourism of the Center and the State as Officers, Information Assistants, Tourist Guides etc. Another good prospect for qualified tourism professionals are in the private sector with Travel Agencies, Tour Operators, Airlines, Hotels, Transport and Cargo companies etc.So what does it all mean for graduates entering the travel and tourism industry? New graduates are hugely important to the success of the sector. Businesses have to adapt as markets and consumers’ needs are changing. Graduates bring fresh ideas to businesses and help them to adapt to the changing environment.  Increased tourism in India has created jobs in a variety of related sectors, both directly and indirectly. Almost 20 million people are now working in India’s Tourism Industry.

Eligibility

B.A. Travel and Tourism is a 3 year programme, 4th year is Optional (T & C Apply) and minimum eligibility required for the programme is 10+2 passed in any stream.

Admission Process

As per the guidelines of MP Higher Education, admission is through online registration. This is followed by direct entry through college level counselling – CLC (Online registration is compulsory for CLC).
